What is Macanudo?

Macanudo is a brand of premium, hand-rolled cigar produced by the General Cigar Company in the Dominican Republic. The modern brand was introduced in 1971 by General Cigar, which had acquired rights to the name outside of Cuba. It was originally developed in Jamaica under Ramon Cifuentes, a veteran of the Cuban cigar maker Partagas, before production shifted to the Dominican Republic in October 2000. Macanudo is noted for its mild flavor and light cafe (claro) Connecticut-shade wrapper, and it is also available in a darker maduro wrapper. By the early 1990s, it had grown into the best-selling premium cigar label in the United States.

Good to know

Macanudo's mild profile makes it a common starting point for newer cigar smokers and an easy daily smoke for seasoned ones. If you prefer a fuller body, ask a Host about the maduro and Cru Royale options. These are tobacco products. They contain nicotine, an addictive chemical, and are sold only to Guests 21 and older with a valid photo ID verified in store. Online ordering is not live yet, so all Macanudo cigars are purchased in person with same-day in-store pickup.
