Joya de Nicaragua is a cigar maker founded in 1968 in Esteli, Nicaragua. It is the oldest cigar brand in the country and ran the first factory to produce premium handmade cigars there. The company is Nicaraguan owned and operated under Dr. Alejandro Martinez Cuenca, who acquired it in 1994.
Joya is known for Nicaraguan puros, cigars built entirely from Nicaraguan binder, filler, and wrapper tobacco. Its Antano line is a powerful, full-bodied blend, and the Antano 1970 was introduced to revive the brand's original character. The Antano Gran Reserva uses a dark Nicaraguan Habano Criollo wrapper over longer-aged tobacco.
