What is Davidoff?

Davidoff is a premium Swiss cigar brand that takes its name from Zino Davidoff, the Geneva tobacconist known as the King of Cigars, whose family opened its first Geneva tobacco shop in 1911. The first cigars bearing the Davidoff name were released in the late 1960s, and the brand is owned today by Oettinger Davidoff AG of Basel, Switzerland.

Since 1991, Davidoff cigars have been hand-rolled in the Dominican Republic, where the house built its name for consistency. The Signature line, one of Davidoff's classic Dominican blends, pairs an Ecuador Connecticut wrapper with Dominican filler for a mellow to medium smoke. Grand Cru sits alongside it as another of Davidoff's core Dominican cigars.
