What is Captain Black?

Captain Black is a line of aromatic pipe tobacco that Lane Limited first put in its catalog in 1956. It became the number one selling pipe tobacco in the United States and has stayed one of the most recognized names on the pipe shelf. The classic Captain Black blend mixes Virginia, Burley, and Black Cavendish tobaccos for a mild, sweet, slow-burning smoke. Lane Limited, founded in Germany in 1890 and re-established in the United States in 1938, has produced the brand since its debut. Scandinavian Tobacco Group acquired Lane Limited in 2011 and owns Captain Black today.

What we carry at El Paso Smoke Shops

Our Hosts stock Captain Black aromatic pipe tobacco in a resealable pouch, the everyday format pipe smokers in El Paso reach for. It is loose pipe tobacco meant for hand-filling a pipe bowl, not a cigarette and not a vape.

We carry it as a single pouch on the shelf. Its product page shows the El Paso store that has it in stock, so Guests can confirm availability before heading over.
