Made for Zippo and other wick lighters
Despite the 'Kerosine' name on the can, this is Zippo's premium lighter fluid, a light petroleum distillate (naphtha), not kerosene. It is formulated for Zippo windproof lighters and Zippo refillable hand warmers. It is not meant for utility lighters, FireFast or multi-purpose torches, or accessory lighter inserts. The flip-up spout lets you fuel the wick precisely and keep spills down, so your lighter is ready to flick the moment you walk back out the door.

Questions & Answers
Is lighter fluid the same as kerosene?
No. Even though this can reads 'Kerosine,' Zippo premium lighter fluid is a light petroleum distillate called naphtha, not kerosene. Kerosene is heavier and burns differently, so use the correct Zippo fluid in your Zippo wick lighter.
Can you use kerosene in a Zippo?
We do not recommend it. Zippo lighters are designed for Zippo premium lighter fluid (naphtha). Kerosene burns dirtier and smokier in a wick lighter, so stick with this 4 oz Zippo fluid that we stock at all 10 El Paso Smoke Shops.
How long does a 4oz Zippo fluid last?
It depends on how often you light up, but a 4 fl oz (118 ml) can refills a standard Zippo many times over, often lasting weeks to months of regular use. Refill when the flame weakens, and pick up a fresh can at any El Paso store.
What is Zippo lighter fluid made of?
It is naphtha, a light petroleum distillate (CAS 64742-49-0). The 4 oz can is a flammable liquid with low odor and fast ignition. It carries a GHS Danger rating (H225) and a California Prop 65 cancer and reproductive-harm warning.
Is Zippo lighter fluid flammable?
Yes, highly flammable. Its flash point is below -6.5 C (20.3 F) and it is rated GHS Danger (H225). Keep it away from heat, sparks and open flame, use it in a well ventilated area, and keep it out of reach of children.
How do you refill a Zippo lighter?
Lift the insert out of the case, flip the felt pad, and slowly fill the cotton with Zippo fluid using the can's flip-up spout until damp, not soaked. Wipe off any excess, let it settle, reassemble, then light. Our hosts can point you to the fluid.
Can you bring Zippo fluid on a plane?
No. Lighter fluid is a flammable liquid and is prohibited in both carry-on and checked bags by the TSA. Buy it after you land instead, and we will have the 4 oz can ready at any of our 10 El Paso Smoke Shops.
Does Zippo fluid evaporate?
Yes. Naphtha is volatile, so a filled Zippo slowly loses fuel to evaporation even when unused, which is why the flame fades over time. Keep the can sealed upright, store the lighter closed, and top off when needed.
You must be 21 or older to buy at El Paso Smoke Shops. We check a valid photo ID at the counter at all 10 of our El Paso locations. In-store pickup only.
