You breathe out through the mouthpiece and the patented Zero-5 cartridge traps particulates and smell before they reach the room. How the Philter Filter Works
Instead of freshening the air after smoke spreads, the Philter captures your exhale at the source. You exhale through the medical grade silicone mouthpiece and the Zero-5 cartridge runs the vapor or smoke through five stages of microfiltration. Philter Labs rates the system to capture up to 99.75% of airborne particulates down to 0.3 microns, so what leaves the device has far less visible cloud and odor. When a cartridge is spent, you pop in a fresh biodegradable one and keep the reusable case.

The Pocket is the compact two-piece model: a biodegradable filter cartridge inside a reusable silicone sleeve, rated for up to 250 exhales, in a White and Blue design at $14.99. The Phrend is the larger-capacity model with a medical grade silicone mouthpiece and a reusable hardened case, rated for up to 500 exhales, offered in Grey on White or Black at $29.99. Reusable and Refillable
Both models are built to be reused. The case or sleeve is durable and only the filter cartridge is replaced, which is cheaper and less wasteful than tossing the whole device. Refill cartridges are sold separately, and the biodegradable cartridge breaks down in under three years. Keep a spare on hand so you are never caught with a spent filter.
