What Is Kratom?
Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) is a tropical tree native to Southeast Asia. Its leaves contain naturally occurring alkaloids — primarily mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine — that interact with the body in dose-dependent ways. At lower amounts, many users report increased energy and focus. At higher amounts, the effects shift toward relaxation and calm. It’s been used traditionally in Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia for centuries.
