What is Wehrloom Honey?
Wehrloom Honey is a family beekeeping operation in Robbinsville, North Carolina, in the Appalachian mountains. Aron and Jessica Wehr started it in 2013, naming it with a play on the word heirloom. What began with backyard beehives grew into a working meadery and shop that makes honey, mead, candles, skincare, and craft soda in small batches.
Their bees forage wild Appalachian nectar, and that honey is the through-line in everything they bottle. The craft soda line leans on it directly, using raw honey as the sweetener in place of high-fructose corn syrup. Wehrloom bottles several honey soda flavors, including cola, root beer, cream soda, and ginger, all caffeine-free and made in small runs.
