What is I-Tal?
I-Tal is the original hemp wick, a grassroots, family-run brand that started in 2001 on the Big Island of Hawaii. A hemp wick is a length of raw hemp twine coated in beeswax that you light first, then use that small flame to spark your bowl, pipe, or rolling paper instead of holding a butane lighter to it.
I-Tal makes its wick from raw hemp, hand harvested and processed in the old way, then cured in 100% refined beeswax with the impurities taken out so the wax adds no flavor of its own. The result is a slow, butane-free flame. The brand sells the wick in spools, dispensers, and lighter sleeves, and the spool is the format that built its smoke naturally following across the smoking community.
